Senior Consultant

Burger Consulting Group (BCG) is seeking an experienced, senior consultant to join their growing team. BCG serves construction clientele around the North America with IT strategic planning, software selections, business process alignment and software implementation management. The firm has 25 years of industry experience with strong knowledge of best practices, technology trends and the vendor marketplace that is shaping and influencing our industry.

This is a full-time opportunity that can require 20%- 40% travel at times. BCG is based in Chicago; however, the position can be filled remotely for the right individual.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consulting and interacting with people at all levels across a client organization, including senior-level executives
  • Facilitating assessment, selection and/or implementation workshops in one or more of the following applications in construction; Accounting and Job Cost (ERP), Project Management, Service Management, Estimating, Material Management and/or fabrication management
  • Actively participating in all phases of the project lifecycle and working closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are met
  • Performing in-depth assessments to investigate, uncover and understand business issues and processes, and delivering written and/or oral presentations of findings that may include process maps, infographics, graphs or other related data
  • Co-author client deliverable material which could include executive summaries, risks and inefficiencies, recommendations, and visual materials
  • Participating in software vendor selections by identifying requirements based upon the client’s criteria and assisting their teams in seeing not only the pros but the limitations within the technology
  • Developing RFP’s, creating demonstration agendas, and creating vendor comparison executive summary documentation
  • Most understand vendor licensing and cloud deployment options
  • Involves the use of critical thinking and problem solving for client related activities
  • Working with client leadership and colleagues to assess technology needs, developing and
    delivering written and/or oral presentations/documentation of IT strategy recommendations
  • Ensuring superior customer service through follow-up, client responsiveness and customer-
    focused communication
  • Working on engagements with multiple clients simultaneously
  • Preparing articles for industry publications and providing thought leadership activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Technology preferred; MBA or an
    equivalent master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of five years of professional services experience and strong consultative skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills or ideal including the ability to gain and retain
    the attention and involvement of sophisticated, challenging audiences
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment
  • Ability to collaborate within a mature project team while providing input on project risks,
    outcomes, deliverables, and client dynamics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, analytical, problem solving,
    interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and the ability to work in a flexible entrepreneurial
    environment, both individually and as a team player
  • Strong knowledge of business processes common to construction firms, both operational and
    accounting and how it relates to industry technology
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with a strong presence and ability to lead discussion while
    extracting important information
  • Capable of identifying additional scope and seeing further opportunity when working with
    clients
