Mel Heckman has more than 20 years’ experience in ERP, IT infrastructure, custom development, and Business Intelligence across a wide range of industries, particularly manufacturing and distribution.

Mel has developed a deep expertise in information technology planning, architecture, and operations.
Mel is a strategic executive leader of technology with a focus on high-impact IT/ERP initiatives. He has a wide range of technical expertise from software development to infrastructure management. He has extensive experience with custom development, database management, infrastructure, network, and security, etc. Through many ERP implementations, he has developed a deep knowledge of warehouse management and business to business technologies, i.e. EDI. He was a key developer in the design and development of a warehouse management system (WMS) called Aqueduct in use by mid-market organizations.

Mel is an influential and business-focused CIO/CTO/COO advisor with strong technical and business intelligence background. He excels at leading teams in implementing corporate-wide process improvements that result in flexible, scalable solutions to solve challenges. He has experience in multiple industries with organizations ranging from mid-market to Fortune 500 with strong experience in manufacturing and distribution.

In his most recent role, as the technology lead of American Outdoor Brands, Mel led a full digital transformation including the build out of infrastructure, back office, ERP, ecommerce and cybersecurity.
