IT Cost and Benchmarking Study
Burger Consulting Group (BCG) is excited to launch one of our most ambitious industry projects in several years: an IT Cost and Benchmarking Study. This important study is being conducted in partnership with some of the most well regarded names in the construction industry: Engineering News-Record (ENR), Plante Moran, Tableau, a software solution that uses interactive data visualization to provide meaningful business intelligence to organizations, and LightHorse Innovation, a Tableau partner, to develop the results. BCG reached out to clients and industry partners to request input on the original draft of the study.
The feedback we received was tremendous and telling. Tremendous because they provided such helpful suggestions to the study questions, direction, and related content. Telling because everyone was very supportive of the study and eager for the resulting data. This promises to be the definitive, financial based IT survey in the construction industry. “Plante Moran is pleased to sponsor the IT Cost and Benchmarking study, which will provide the construction industry with quality comparative metrics to better inform IT spending decisions,” said Ken Julien, partner and leader of Plante Moran’s construction consulting practice. “This data and the resulting analysis will arm construction firms facing significant IT growth initiatives with informative baselines, operational trends, and benchmarking data to address IT needs with confidence.”
After responses have been gathered, BCG will then collaborate with ENR to publish the results and produce a series of webinars in June, September and December. Once the data is in, LightHorse and BCG will get busy analyzing the results, looking for trends, correlations, and patterns that IT managers in the construction industry so desperately need. When fighting for budget dollars and/or head-count, there is nothing quite as compelling as objective third-party comparative data to help make the case. Your participation is critical in helping make this project as powerful as it promises to be. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
